Anyone can take a photograph. But, not all have vision. Photographer, Craig Stewart, takes you down back roads, across meadows, and over a fence or two to capture moments of pristine beauty and emotion. In these collections, he invites you to join him in places anyone can go-- the difference is that, by careful observation, timing and angle of view, he sees the awesome wonder you might have missed. Write yourself into the stories inspired by these exquisite places and make them your own.
After graduation from Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, CA, Stewart spent thirty years paying the bills as an advertising photographer. Meanwhile, for his soul, he took his skill behind the lens to elegant and inspiring places far and wide. Rising early and waiting patiently for just the right light, he captured the essence of each locale in its purest state. Currently, he divides his time between farming lavender in the beautiful Santa Ynez Valley and exploring new and interesting locations to share with anyone who desires to see with fresh vision.
"Less is more." A great image tells a story, yet leaves a little mystery to the viewer's imagination.
Both the presence and absence of light are essential. Without contrast, the photo lacks shape, texture and form.
THE GOLDEN MEAN IS FOUND IN ALL OF NATURE. OUR EYES LONG FOR IT AND FIND SATISFACTION WHEN IT IS ACHIEVED, REGARDLESS OF THE MEDIUM.
